2027 World Car Person of the Year will also be revealed on 26 February, with 2026 World Car Award winners on display
The World Car Awards will announce its 2027 Top Three in the World finalists at the London International Motor Show on Friday, 26 February 2027, bringing a key point in the world’s number one automotive awards programme to the UK capital.
The announcement will reveal the final three contenders for World Car of the Year, World Urban Car, World Luxury Car, World Performance Car and World Car Design of the Year.
The 2027 World Car Person of the Year will also be announced at the event. Both announcements will take place at ExCeL London on the opening day of the London International Motor Show, which runs from 26 to 28 February 2027.
Also at the show, the World Car Awards stand will showcase the 2026 World Car Awards winners, giving visitors the opportunity to see the cars recognised by World Car’s international jurors as attention turns to the contenders for 2027.
The London International Motor Show will bring together vehicle manufacturers, technology companies, the automotive media and car buyers. Alongside new vehicle displays, visitors can look forward to test drives and live discussions, with areas dedicated to future technology, luxury cars and classics.
Steve Fowler, Chair of the World Car Awards Steering Committee, said, “Reaching the Top Three in the World is a big moment for the car makers involved and for our jurors, who spend months driving and assessing the contenders around the world. I’m delighted we’ll be sharing that excitement at the London International Motor Show.
“Having our 2026 winners on display will also give visitors a chance to see the cars that impressed our jurors last year. Add the announcement of our World Car Person of the Year and there’ll be plenty to celebrate in London before we head to the New York International Auto Show for the final results.”
Alec Mumford, Senior Consultant to LIMS, said, “Welcoming the World Car Awards to London is fantastic news for the show. These announcements will bring manufacturers and the media together for a major moment in the international motoring calendar, while the display of the 2026 winners will be a real attraction for visitors.
“We want people to leave the London International Motor Show having discovered something new, whether that’s a car they’d like to own or a technology they haven’t seen before. Bringing the World Car Awards into the show will give them even more to explore and enjoy.”
Now in its 23rd season, the World Car Awards brings together 100 international automotive journalists who test and evaluate eligible vehicles in markets around the world before voting to determine the winners.
Independent media intelligence platform AITASTIC has confirmed World Car as the most visible automotive awards programme globally for the 14th consecutive year, with more than 493 million people reached during the 2025/2026 season.
The Road to World Car 2027 began in September and included an official launch at the Paris Motor Show in October. The journey continues with the announcement of the World Car Design Student Award in Japan and the LA Test Drives in November, before the Top Ten finalists for World Car of the Year and the Top Five finalists in the other four vehicle categories are announced on 5 January 2027.
London will then reveal the Top Three in the World before the journey reaches its conclusion on Wednesday, 24 March 2027, when the 2027 World Car Award winners will be announced at the New York International Auto Show.
