Westgate Oxford is set to host a Recruitment Fair on Tuesday, 6th October, aimed at connecting Oxford locals with employers and providing accessible routes into employment.
Focusing on employability, confidence, and opportunity, the Recruitment Fair aims to remove barriers to hiring by providing an approachable environment, with attendees able to meet employers face-to-face, find vacancies, and explore different career paths.
The fair will feature a range of opportunities across sectors, highlighting retail and hospitality roles from partners including John Lewis, TK Maxx and Superdrug, alongside technical and operational roles with the centre’s service partners Mitie and CBRE. Charity partners Aspire and Connect 2 Work Oxfordshire will also be in attendance.
Tailored to job seekers at every stage, the fair welcomes young people seeking their first job, school and college leavers, those not currently in education, employment, or training, and individuals looking to return to work after a period away. It will also cater to those exploring new career directions or seeking part-time, flexible, or seasonal employment.
Having worked alongside its employment partner Aspire since the centre launched, Westgate Oxford champions inclusive recruitment by delivering mock interviews, career workshops, and practical routes into work for those facing barriers to employment. This ongoing commitment is reflected in the centre’s latest social and economic impact report, which highlights that Westgate Oxford supported 1,527 jobs and helped 110 people move closer to employment in 2025. Building on this momentum, the Recruitment Fair aims to offer participating brands direct access to local talent while opening up accessible career pathways for the community.
Clare Martin, Centre Director at Westgate Oxford, commented: “Retail destinations are part of the fabric of the communities they serve. They help businesses grow, create employment opportunities, and provide spaces where people can come together, connect, and spend time.
“Whether someone is taking their first step into the workplace, returning after time away, or looking for a new direction, this fair is about breaking down barriers and connecting local talent directly with employers. We encourage job seekers to come down and see how we can help unlock their next career opportunity.”
The Recruitment Fair will be free to attend and will take place from 12pm-3pm in the Lower Ground Bar at Curzon cinema. For more information, please visit https://www.westgateoxford.co.uk/en
