The Secret Sax Party is turning up the heat on Soho’s Friday nights – and it’s too good to keep under wraps.
London’s most joyfully chaotic live music night is moving into the heart of Soho for a brand-new residency at 21 Soho, just off Soho Square, right in the middle of a neighbourhood that’s been home to some of London’s best nights out for decades.
Here’s how it works: a full live band, singers, and a sax out front leading the charge take over a room built for exactly this, and hand the night to the crowd. Shout a song, they’ll play it. Sax solos, singalongs, and the kind of energy that has everyone up and moving within about four bars – this is not a gig where you stand still and watch.
Because that’s the whole point of Secret Sax Party: it’s not a £150 arena ticket where you’re twenty rows back and home by half ten. It’s a properly good night out – the kind you go to with mates before heading somewhere else, or the kind that ends up being the whole night by itself. Turn up, get stuck in, and let the band do the rest.
Expect a set that jumps decades in a heartbeat – soul and disco classics sitting alongside stadium rock, 2000s pop anthems and current chart hits, all reworked with the same live energy. It’s built to keep the floor moving from the first note to the last, whatever era the crowd shouts for next.
The Secret Sax Party takes over the main room at 21 Soho – a space with proper production and sound, without losing the intimate feel of stumbling into your new favourite live music experience. It’s easily accessible from all parts of the Capital and beyond too, with the Elizabeth Line just around the corner, alongside the Central and Northern lines putting the whole night within easy reach.
Drinks-wise, expect prices that won’t make your eyes water – a good night out in Soho shouldn’t cost you a fortune before the music’s even started.
The Secret Sax Party is founded by Leo Green – Jazz FM broadcaster, saxophonist and producer who has performed with everyone from Paul McCartney to Jools Holland to Lionel Richie and more – bringing together some of the UK’s finest musicians for a night built entirely around what the crowd wants to hear.
Fittingly, the 6 November date lands on International Saxophone Day – as good an excuse for a party as any.
