Polestar, the Swedish performance car brand, today launches Polestar 4 SUV, a new variant of its electric performance car with greater versatility and capability, while staying true to the design, technology and driving experience that define Polestar 4.
Positioned in the compact executive SUV segment, Polestar 4 SUV pairs the design and refined performance of the updated Polestar 4 coupé with more cargo capacity, enhanced utility features and greater everyday usability, bringing Polestar’s performance DNA to a whole new customer base.

Design
Polestar 4 SUV builds on the award-winning exterior design of Polestar 4 coupé with its sleek body and powerful stance, highlighted in the front by the signature dual-blade headlights and the illuminated Polestar logo.
To increase cargo capacity and versatility while reinforcing its SUV character, Polestar 4 SUV features a redesigned rear end with a straighter roofline and more upright tailgate. Full-length roof rails further enhance practicality, increasing dynamic roof load capacity to 100 kg.
Polestar 4 SUV features an expanded eight-colour exterior palette with new additions including Aurora (bright silver green) and Ozone Matte (bright silver purple in matte clear-coat). The range spans bright, contemporary shades and deeper, more technical finishes, complementing the vehicle’s confident SUV proportions and distinctive Scandinavian design expression.
The interior follows the same design philosophy as the Polestar 4 coupé, carrying over its minimalist and technology-focused character. Inspired by the solar system, ambient illumination allows occupants to tailor the cabin atmosphere through a selection of cosmic themes. Together with the Star Knit décor, the lighting creates a distinctive Polestar 4 interior.
The digital experience is anchored by a recognisable landscape-oriented centre display and driver display, creating an intuitive environment for all occupants. User-friendliness has been further enhanced with an increased number of widget shortcuts on the main display, rising from six to nine, alongside a broader selection of available shortcut functions.
The interior experience is rounded off with a Harman Kardon Premium Sound system available as an option, with 12 speakers and 1,400-Watt channel-hybrid amplifier. The system has been specifically tuned for the Polestar 4 SUV variant.
Interior materials have been selected with sustainability and traceability in mind. Standard Bio-attributed MicroTech features a backing made from 100% recycled PET and a PVC surface containing 53% bio-attributed content. Optional Tailored Knit upholstery is made from 89% recycled PET waste and is 3D-knitted to size to minimise production waste. Bridge of Weir Nappa leather is a chrome-free by-product of the food industry that meets strict animal welfare standards and is fully traceable to farm.
Polestar 4 SUV opens the rear vision-field towards the tailgate with a rear window and is equipped with a conventional rear-view mirror as standard. Customers who want a wider field-of-view, and unobstructed visibility with the luggage compartment fully loaded, can still chose the digital rear-view mirror that launched with Polestar 4 coupé, available as a single option.
A major shift between the two Polestar 4 siblings is most apparent from the second-row seats where the more upright design of the SUV’s rear end offers an extra 2.5 centimetres of headroom to the already spacious Polestar 4 cabin. The airiness is amplified further by a new and larger panoramic glass roof, with the Polestar logo in black-off, mounted as standard. The full-length glass surface is tailored to the redesigned rear of the Polestar 4 SUV and stretches all the way back to the tailgate.
Beyond the 99.5% UV protection provided by the standard glass roof, the optional electrochromic glass roof, unique to Polestar 4 SUV, further reduces glare through an electrically dimmable laminated glass layer. Occupants can control light transmission via the centre display, choosing between fully transparent, fully tinted, or selectively shaded sections.
Polestar 4 SUV offers a total of 1,680 litres of versatile storage, including front and rear luggage compartments. 530 litres are available in the rear when measured up to the seatbacks, and 655 litres when measured up to the inner roof. For transporting larger items, it can conveniently be extended by folding the rear seatbacks (60/40) to offer 1,665 litres of luggage capacity.
Performance
Built on the same SEA architecture as the Polestar 4 coupé, the Polestar 4 SUV is offered with a choice of two powertrains. The Dual motor all-wheel drive version delivers 400 kW (544 hp) and 686 Nm of torque, enabling 0-62mph acceleration in 3.9 seconds and up to 373 miles of WLTP range. The Rear motor variant combines 200 kW (272 hp) and 343 Nm of torque with up to 391 miles of WLTP range, while accelerating from 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds.
A large 100 kWh (nominal) battery comes standard across the range, supporting DC charging of up to 200 kW and AC charging of up to 22 kW in selected markets.
Polestar 4 SUV shares the same chassis specification as the recently updated Polestar 4 coupé and has been tuned to combine comfort and refinement for everyday use and long-distance travel with the responsive handling, steering precision and driving engagement that active drivers expect from a Polestar.
Those looking for the ultimate in terms of driving dynamics will naturally opt for Polestar 4 SUV with Performance pack. The performance chassis has undergone similar tuning as the passive chassis and includes recalibrated active dampers from ZF, high-performance Brembo brakes with callipers in Swedish gold colour, and a new 22” Performance-wheel equipped with Pirelli P Zero performance tires.

The drivetrain options are visually distinguished in the interior by the colouring of the seatbelts and the rotary control knob. While the Rear motor feature an all-black theme, the Dual motor cars has an added golden stripe on the seatbelt and the rotary knob. The Performance pack cars are visually the most striking with signature full Swedish gold seatbelts and rotary knob.
Vehicle-to-Load (V2L)
Vehicle-to-Load functionality, coming to all Polestar 4 vehicles, is a bidirectional power feature that enables the vehicle’s high-voltage battery to supply AC power to external devices, such as camping equipment, power tools and a wide range of consumer electronics.
The system can deliver up to 3.3 kW (16A, single-phase 230V) of power through a certified charging adapter, available separately through Polestar’s Extras web shop. Users can power external devices until the vehicle reaches a pre-set minimum battery level, configurable via the centre display settings.
Camping mode
Polestar 4 SUV introduces a new Camping mode that transforms the parked vehicle into a climate-controlled space at the touch of the screen. The function provides seamless access to entertainment, ambient lighting and vehicle controls from both front and rear displays, supported by V2L power, USB-C connectivity and the 12V outlet. Designed for convenience and comfort, Camping mode enables a connected environment whether used for outdoor stays or everyday flexibility.
Google Gemini
Google Gemini enhances the in-car experience with more natural, helpful voice interactions. Replacing traditional command-based voice control with an advanced AI model, Gemini understands context, supports multi-turn dialogue, and helps drivers complete more complex tasks through everyday speech, making interactions with the vehicle more intuitive and seamless.
In addition to vehicle-related queries, Gemini supports hands-free productivity through Gemini Live, enabling brainstorming, trip planning and real-time translation. Now available across all Polestar markets, Gemini serves as a seamless upgrade of Google Assistant and reinforces Polestar’s commitment to delivering a more intelligent and user-centric connected car experience.
Sustainability
Low-carbon and recycled materials have been integrated across the vehicle, helping Polestar 4 SUV achieve one of the lowest carbon footprints in the Polestar model lineup. The cradle-to-gate carbon footprint is 21.1 tCO2e for the Dual motor variant and 20.2 tCO2e for Rear motor versions.
These results are driven by targeted reductions in emissions across the battery and aluminium supply chains. Key measures include the use of 100% renewable electricity in battery cell production, aluminium sourced from smelters powered by renewable electricity accounting for 34% of total aluminium content, and 23% recycled aluminium.
Pricing
Polestar 4 SUV starts at £54,750 for Rear motor variants and at £60,750 for Dual motor variants. Polestar 4 SUV with Performance pack is available from £68,250.
All Polestar 4 SUV vehicles are manufactured in Busan, South Korea where production started in the second quarter of 2026. The first customer deliveries are planned for the fourth quarter of 2026.
