ONE of the UK’s most mysterious and talked-about TV locations, The Traitors castle, could be in with a chance of winning big in the Postcode Lottery.
Numerous players have signed up with the postcode of Ardross Castle – IV17 0YE – known by millions of telly viewers as home to the hit BBC show, which returns with a celebrity version on Thursday 1 October.
While traitors and faithfuls are plotting, banishing and planning their next move in the Easter Ross castle’s iconic turret, it appears that behind the scenes, someone at the castle may also be dreaming of a bumper win.
Next month, a prize pot of £21.3 million must be won in Postcode Lottery’s draws.
As part of that, later in October, the lottery’s weekly Millionaire Street prize is being turbo-charged with seven days in a row of £1m wins – meaning seven postcodes will win £7m. And the castle postcode is eligible.
Ardross is a stunning 19th-century pile within over 100 acres of parkland on the banks of the River Alness, north of Inverness in the beautiful Scottish Highlands.
Just 13 miles away, nine neighbours in Tain, Easter Ross, shared the lottery’s weekly £1m Millionaire Street in June 2023. Every ticket was worth £83,333, but three players doubled their prizes with two tickets each.
Many of Britain’s most iconic filming locations have been quietly entering the draw, hoping to strike it lucky.
It’s also been revealed that Postcode Lottery players have entered with a postcode within Badminton Estate in Gloucestershire –made famous by hit Netflix series The Gentleman.

Badminton House and the estate was used extensively for filming as the fictional home of Duke Eddie Horniman (played by Theo James), a young aristocrat who inherits his family’s seat. It was renamed Halstead Manor by the show’s creator Guy Ritchie.
Today, the grand Grade I listed country house has served as the principal seat of the Dukes of Beaufort since the late 17th century.
Also among the poshest postcodes in the lottery’s draws is Highclere Castle, RG20 9RN, made famous by ITV’s historical drama Downton Abbey.

Located in Hampshire, Highclere is the real-life country seat of the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon.
But between 2010 and 2024, it was the primary filming location for Downton Abbey, the internationally renowned show which ran for six seasons and spawned three films.
