Excitement is building at the Orchard West theatre this week, as our talented cast and crew gear up for this year’s highly anticipated Summer Youth Project, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. With opening night just around the corner on Friday 21 August, the energy in the rehearsal rooms is electric.
The annual Summer Youth Project provides a platform for local young people to develop their theatrical skills, build confidence, and work together to produce a professional-grade
performance. Our behind-the-scenes photographs capture the cast perfecting their choreography and sharing laughter, highlighting the joy and dedication that have gone into this production.
“I’m having the absolute best time!” said one of the cast members. “Rehearsals are so much fun, and I’ve made so many new friends. We’ve been working really hard on our dance routines, and I can’t wait for opening night next Friday! It’s going to be so special to finally perform it for all our families and friends to see.”
The magic isn’t limited to the stage. Behind the scenes, the young technical team has been hard at work bringing the whimsical world of Wonka to life.
“Being part of the tech crew has been an incredible experience,” added a member of the backstage team. “I’ve loved being involved in the creative process of making the props. Seeing all the pieces come together to create the set has been so satisfying. We can’t wait for the audience to see what we’ve built.”
