Bellway Site Managers in Kent Recognised for Commitment to Quality

A total of three Bellway site managers in the county were announced as winners in the National House Building Council’s (NHBC) 2026 Pride in the Job Quality Awards.

This is the third year in a row that Project Manager Vixit has received a Quality Award in recognition of his work at Harbour Village.

He said: “My success this year is down to a strong team culture built on consistency, attention to detail, and genuine pride in what we deliver. From the outset, we set high standards and ensured they were maintained at every stage of the build, not just at key milestones. Everyone involved has taken ownership of quality, understood expectations clearly, and worked together to resolve issues proactively rather than reactively.

“Ultimately, it’s the collective effort, pride in workmanship, and a shared goal of delivering a high-quality product for our customers that has driven this success.”

Stephen, Project Manager at DeHavilland Place, is also celebrating his third consecutive Quality Award win.

He said: “Winning a third NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award is something I’m incredibly proud of and not something I ever imagined achieving when I first started out in the industry. Whilst the award is presented to the Site Manager, it is very much a team achievement. The support and hard work from our subcontractors, suppliers and the wider Bellway team plays a huge part in making awards like this possible.

“One of the things that makes De Havilland Place special is the team we have on site. Everyone pulls in the same direction and takes genuine pride in what they do. That commitment to quality and attention to detail is what helps us consistently deliver high standards for our customers.”

And for Project Manager Tommy Pritchard, it’s been a special experience to celebrate a second consecutive win after picking up his first Quality Award in 2025.

Tommy, based at Oxenden Park in Herne Bay, said: “Winning this award two years running is something I’m incredibly proud of. It’s a reflection not only of hard work and dedication, but also of the amazing team around me.

“Success is never achieved alone, and I’m grateful to work alongside such talented, supportive people who make every achievement possible. Here’s to another year of striving for excellence together.”

The awards, which are now in their 45th year, are among the most highly-prized in the housebuilding industry, with only 449 from over 7,500 site managers inspected by the NHBC selected for the honour this year.

Judging for the awards is a rigorous process which encompasses every aspect of a site manager’s responsibilities, including consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety. Spot checks are also carried out on the day-to-day running of the site.

The successful site managers will now go on to be judged in the next round of the competition – the Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards – which will be announced in the autumn.
