We’re pleased to announce that we’ve appointed Andrew Chronias to the new, Board level position of Chief Digital Information Officer. Andrew has more than 25 years of experience working across the NHS at a senior level, including at two large teaching hospital trusts. In his current role, as Chief Information Officer at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust, Andrew has delivered a digital strategy, various infrastructure projects and changes to their electronic patient record (EPR).
Reacting to his appointment, Andrew said: “I am so pleased I’m joining the BHRUT Board at this important time.
“I am excited by the prospect of working alongside my new colleagues to make the best use of digital, information and innovation opportunities and help improve staff experience and outcomes for patients.
“Throughout my NHS career, I’ve been a passionate advocate of ensuring care is delivered equitably and being aware of the impact of health services on the people we serve.
“I am looking forward to listening, learning and working collaboratively to build on the Trust’s achievements and realising its future ambitions.”
Andrew’s priorities, once he joins us next month, will include getting the very best out of our EPR, improving the resilience of our IT infrastructure, introducing a digital strategy and enhancing our cyber security.
Responding to Andrew’s appointment, Fiona Wheeler, our Chief Executive (Interim), said: “I’m delighted that we’ve recruited someone of Andrew’s calibre and experience.
“Working with colleagues, he will both drive future improvements and resolve current issues, such as the quality of the hospital Wi-Fi which can be frustrating for patients and staff.
“We’ve been behind the curve for too long; Andrew will help deliver our digital revolution.”
