A new year-long programme has been launched to help Richmond start-ups, entrepreneurs and growing businesses unlock their next stage of growth through expert mentoring, practical advice and tailored business support.
The Richmond Business Growth Partnership will provide intensive, year-long support for 40 borough businesses, helping them grow faster, build resilience and realise their ambitions.
The programme forms part the Richmond Growth Plan, which identifies small businesses and enterprise as key drivers of the borough’s economy and sets an ambition to increase the number of businesses in the borough by 10% over the next decade.
Councillor Phil Giesler, Lead Member for Business and Growth, said: “This partnership is a key part of delivering the Richmond Growth Plan by backing ambitious entrepreneurs, supporting high-growth businesses and strengthening the borough’s enterprise base.
“We know many business owners have ambition and ideas but can face challenges turning those plans into sustainable growth. This programme will give them access to expert advice, practical tools and a network of support to help them make better decisions, build resilience and seize opportunities.”
Supported by Richmond Council and delivered by CPG Executive Consulting through its MyGrowthPod, the Richmond Business Growth Partnership is a 12-month pilot running from July 2026 to July 2027.
The programme takes a different approach to business support by providing deeper, implementation-led support over a sustained period. It has been designed around the principle that lasting business growth is achieved through practical action, accountability and ongoing support.
It offers businesses mentoring, workshops, networking opportunities, online resources and one-to-one support, helping owners develop the skills, confidence, and connections to take the next step.
Helen Roberts, CEO of CPG Executive Consulting, said: “The biggest challenge facing many business owners isn’t knowing what to do – it’s finding the time, accountability and support to actually do it. That’s where this programme is different. Rather than simply delivering training, we’re working alongside businesses to help them implement ideas, overcome challenges and build sustainable growth.”
The partnership builds on Richmond Council’s successful business support offer, which has already helped more than 1,000 businesses and hundreds of aspiring entrepreneurs access advice, training and support since 2020.
The Richmond Business Growth Partnership is open to residents and businesses based in the borough, including those that have taken part in previous business support programmes. Businesses will be asked to make a small contribution of £500 towards the year-long programme, reflecting its partnership approach and the commitment expected from participants.
Places are limited. Businesses interested in taking part will be invited to book a discovery call to discuss their ambitions and whether the programme is the right fit for them.
