Jet2 has helped make nine-year-old Danyel Petrov’s dream take flight, giving him a once-in-a-lifetime behind-the-scenes airport experience after his love of aviation inspired a special wish through Make-A-Wish UK.
Danyel was invited to enjoy a memorable ‘Day in the Life of a Pilot’ experience after flying to visit family in Bulgaria inspired a love of aircraft and flying from a young age.
Jet2’s team, working alongside Make-A-Wish UK and teams across London Stansted Airport, organised a special day designed to give Danyel a unique behind-the-scenes experience of Jet2’s award-winning operations. Danyel, who lives in Essex, has Hodgkin’s lymphoma and made his wish through Make-A-Wish-UK.
The action-packed day saw Danyel embark on a VIP tour of airside operations. He met pilots, cabin crew and ground operations colleagues from Jet2, explored an aircraft engine up close, sat in the cockpit and watched a departure from the airfield, creating unforgettable memories along the way.
Danyel and his family enjoyed lounge access at lunch before wrapping up the day by meeting some friendly Jet2 Red team at check-in, ending a memorable day that brought his passion for flying to life.
