One of the UK’s great festive concert traditions returns this winter as the Raymond Gubbay Christmas Season brings concerts to London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow.
For generations of audiences, a Raymond Gubbay concert has become part of Christmas itself – as traditional as carols, mulled wine and gathering together to watch the King’s Christmas message. Whether it is an annual family tradition, a night out with friends or a special festive treat, the concerts offer the chance to experience some of the world’s best-loved music performed live.
From magnificent orchestras and choirs to candlelit carols, festive singalongs, Hollywood film scores and the timeless sound of the big-band era, this year’s Raymond Gubbay Christmas Season offers something for everybody – all presented in some of the UK’s finest concert halls.
The Raymond Gubbay Christmas Season takes in London’s Barbican Hall, Cadogan Hall and Royal Festival Hall, Birmingham’s Symphony Hall, Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall and Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall, creating a series of special occasions from November through Christmas and into the New Year.
Festive highlights include Christmas with Sir Karl Jenkins in Birmingham, Manchester and London; Christmas with King’s College Choir; Candlelit Carols; and Christmas Carol Singalong – bringing together much-loved seasonal music, celebrated performers and the atmosphere of a great concert hall at Christmas.
The celebrations continue beyond Christmas Day with The Glenn Miller Orchestra, The Best of John Williams, The Music of Zimmer vs Williams and New Year’s Day Proms, while Classical Spectacular brings the scale and drama of the orchestral concert hall to Birmingham, Manchester and London.
