The Nero Group, which operates 1,191 stores across 11 countries with more than 11,000 employees, announces record sales of £670m ($900m) for the financial year ending 31th May 2026 (FY26).
The Group delivered overall sales growth of 8%, with like for like sales up 4.1%. In a year when the coffee category has been lacklustre for much of the global industry, The Nero Group has thrived, gaining market share across all territories. During the year, the Group opened 72 new stores, 16 of which were added through the acquisition of Compass Coffee in Washington DC, USA.
In the U.K., Caffè Nero achieved like for like sales of 4.5% and grew overall sales by 5%. This was supported by the huge success of its Iced Drinks sales, which grew by 52%, with Matcha accounting for a significant amount of it.
The Group anticipates opening at least 80 new stores in the coming year.
Founder and Group CEO, Gerry Ford commented: “I’m hugely encouraged by the Group’s performance during the last financial year. Despite tough trading conditions, a challenging financial climate and geopolitical conflicts, we have continued to outperform the market and gain market share. We are focussed on the premium end of the coffee market and have been able to take a leadership role in that segment. Our success is a testament to the hard work of our store teams, the strength of our brand and the great innovation and delivery of premium coffee, iced drinks and service. I’m really proud of what all our people have delivered over the last 12 months. We enter the current financial year with strong momentum and have set ourselves up well for another successful year.”
The Nero Group operates 6 brands across the UK, Including Caffè Nero, Coffee#1, 200 Degrees, Harris+Hoole, FCB Coffee and Aroma.
