BARBS Launches Unlimited Bajan Wing Wednesdays at Shoreditch’s Queen of Hoxton

BARBS is giving Londoners a new reason to get together midweek with the launch of Bajan Unlimited Wing Wednesday.

The special deal is only at Queen of Hoxton every Wednesday starting on 16 September 2026.

Bringing the flavours of Barbados to the heart of Shoreditch, the weekly event offers 90 minutes of unlimited wings for £20 per person.

Three styles lead the line-up – dry, sweet and spicy, with new variations introduced every month to give guests something different to come back for.

The opening menu features Bajan Fried Chicken, marinated and fried fresh with a crisp, seasoned coating; Tamarind Barbecue, the sweet option bringing tamarind’s distinctive tang; and Island Pepper, delivering the heat for those who like their wings with a kick.

It is a new way to experience BARBS’ approach to Bajan cooking,  bold flavours, family roots and food made from scratch, brought to the table with the warmth and generosity of Barbados.

The launch also introduces a new cocktail and soft drinks menu, drawing on the island’s ingredients, familiar flavours and much-loved places.

Family runs through the drinks menu too. Sweet Girl, named after the nickname the founder Nicc’s grandmother had as a youngster, combines guava jelly, Mount Gay rum and ginger ale, finished with orange and thyme.

Willie’s Guinness Punch takes its name from Nicc’s granddad, who celebrates his 103rd birthday this year, blending Guinness with milk, condensed milk, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla and star anise.

These personal touches connect BARBS’ new drinks to the family behind the food, bringing another part of Nicc’s Barbados story to Shoreditch.

The Mauby Old Fashioned brings Bajan mauby syrup to Buffalo Trace bourbon, Angostura bitters and orange peel, while the Bathsheba Hibiscus Mojito pairs hibiscus-infused white rum with fresh lime, mint and soda.

Elsewhere, Heywoods Rum Punch mixes Mount Gay Eclipse with guava, lime and cane syrup, with a non-alcoholic version also available.

The soft drinks deserve their own place at the table. Guests can try Mauby, with its distinctive sweet and bitter spice notes; Sorrel, a tart hibiscus drink with ginger and warm spices; or Bajan Lemonade, made with lime, cane sugar and vanilla.

“BARBS has always been about sharing the food and flavours we love from Barbados,” says Nicc Wright, Founder of BARBS. “Wing Wednesday gives people a reason to get their friends together, settle in and try something different.

“We’re starting with three flavours, then changing things up every month. And the drinks are just as much a part of the story, from mauby and sorrel to a proper rum punch.”

Inspired by Nicc’s grandmother’s cooking, BARBS brings family recipes and traditional techniques into a modern fast-casual restaurant.

Its home at Queen of Hoxton pairs that Bajan heritage with the social energy of Shoreditch, bringing people together over good food and drinks throughout the year.

Bajan Unlimited Wing Wednesday launches on 16 September and runs every Wednesday. Book at eatbarbs.com.
