Experts at latestbettingoffers.co.uk have revealed the best beaches in the UK based on Tripadvisor review rates. Beaches with 20 reviews or more were included and ranked by the percentage of excellent Tripadvisor reviews.

Traigh Lingeigh Beach, located on the Isle of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides, takes the top spot with a 100 per cent excellent review rate from 21 total reviews, all of which are five stars. Reviewers describe the beach as “one of the world’s most beautiful places,” “breathtaking,” and “stunning.”

Second place goes to Luskentyre on the Isle of Harris, which has 1,150 reviews in total, 1,079 of which are five stars, giving it a 93.8 per cent excellent rate. The beach is the largest on Harris, and visitors say that the beach is “stunningly beautiful” and has “beautiful turquoise water, soft golden sand that stretches for miles.”

Porthcressa Beach, located in Hugh Town on St Mary’s in the Isles of Scilly, is third with a 91.5 per cent excellent review rate from 47 total reviews, 43 of which are five stars. The beach earned zero average, poor, or terrible reviews. Visitors say that the beach “makes them think they are in the Caribbean,” that the beach is “lovely and clean,” and it has “beautiful sands and rock pools.”

Oldshoremore Beach in Kinlochbervie, Sutherland, places fourth. Of its 163 reviews, 149 are five stars, giving it a 91.4 per cent excellent rate. The reviews mention that it “rivals any beach in the world” and “is unspoilt and beautiful.” The one-mile-long beach is made up of white sand and connects to a five-mile coastal path. The beach has zero poor or terrible reviews.

Fifth place goes to Porthcothan Beach near Padstow in Cornwall, with a 91.3 per cent excellent rate from 23 total reviews, 21 of which are five stars. Reviewers call it a “hidden gem” and a “stunning beach” with “amazing views.”

Traigh Bhostadh, also known as Bosta Beach, on the Isle of Great Bernera off Lewis comes in sixth with a 90.8 per cent excellent rate from 131 reviews, 119 of them five stars. Visitors mention that the beach has “beautiful scenery with turquoise water” and is “surprisingly clean.”

Scarista Beach on the Isle of Harris takes seventh place with a 90.7 per cent excellent rate from 225 reviews, 204 of which are five stars. The reviews include mentions that the beach is “staggeringly beautiful” and “untouched.” The beach is one of the best surfing beaches in the Outer Hebrides, and seals, golden eagles, and deer have all been spotted in the surrounding area.

Marloes Sands Beach, located in Marloes, Pembrokeshire, takes the ninth spot with an 88.8 per cent excellent review rate from 267 total reviews, 237 of which are five stars. The beach sits within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and is only accessible on foot. Visitors have described it as “the most beautiful beach they have ever seen,” praising its “amazing views and scenery” and “incredible rock formations.”

Camusdarach Beach near Arisaig in the Scottish Highlands earns tenth place with an 88.6 per cent excellent rate from 352 total reviews, 312 of which are five stars. Visitors say that the beach is “absolutely spectacular” and “magical” in their reviews.

Polin Beach in Kinlochbervie, Sutherland, takes eleventh place, with zero terrible or poor reviews. Of its 26 reviews, 23 are five stars, giving it an 88.5 per cent excellent rate. The reviews include mentions of “white sands” and “beautiful blue waters.”

Embleton Bay in Embleton, Northumberland, places thirteenth with an 88.1 per cent excellent rate from 329 reviews, 290 of them five stars. The beach sits within the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is overlooked by the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle. Ross Back Sands Beach near Bamburgh, Northumberland, rounds out the top 15 with an 87.9 per cent excellent rate from 247 total reviews, 217 of which are five stars. Beachgoers say that the beach has “golden sands” and is “beautiful and tranquil.” The beach stretches for around three miles and has views of Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island.

“These Tripadvisor rankings highlight that these beaches are incredible spots that aren’t necessarily the most well-known. These beaches offer clear water and wide stretches of sand that provide open space and help you feel away from the crowds. What really stands out from the data is Scotland’s dominance, with nine of the top 15 beaches located north of the border. The highest-rated beaches are almost all in remote, hard-to-reach locations. The data suggests UK beachgoers are willing to travel further for a less crowded experience.”
