Nigel Mayes, Business Development Director at London Southend Airport, said: “We’re thrilled to see this seasonal service to Munich extending into winter. Munich is one of Europe’s most popular destinations during the festive period – and we’ve seen growing demand for festive breaks in the run-up to Christmas – so whether you’re planning a city break, a Christmas shopping trip or using Munich as your gateway to the Bavarian or Austrian Alps for a ski holiday, there’s now even more opportunity to get away this winter from your easy, speedy, friendly airport.”
Munich joins an exciting winter line-up from London Southend Airport, alongside easyJet’s Christmas market flights to Berlin and services to Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland, where families can meet Santa in his hometown.
The route also complements recently announced winter services to Belfast, Budapest, Edinburgh, Lyon and Sharm El Sheikh, offering everything from cosy city breaks to package holiday winter sun escapes.
Nigel continued: “Passengers from Essex, London and East Anglia can enjoy London Southend Airport’s award-winning customer experience, with short walking distances, fast security processing and excellent rail connections to central London, making the airport an attractive choice for travellers across the region.”
