Amalfi Ristorante Brings La Dolce Vita to the Waterfront with Announcement of New St Katharine Docks Opening

Amalfi’s third London restaurant brings Italian Riviera glamour, waterfront dining, bottomless brunch and Afternoon Tea to one of the capital’s most historic destinations.

Amalfi Ristorante is bringing the glamour of the Italian Riviera to the banks of the Thames, officially opening its spectacular new restaurant at St Katharine Docks.

The popular restaurant officially opens on October 28th at one of London’s most beautiful and historic waterfront destinations.

Marking Amalfi Ristorante’s third London location, the new 100-cover restaurant will sit directly on the waterfront, combining beautiful outdoor seating with exceptional views across the marina and its luxury yachts.

With the iconic silhouette of Tower Bridge close by, Amalfi St Katharine Docks promises to be one of the most exciting restaurant launches in London this autumn, offering a taste of la dolce vita in a truly unique setting.

To celebrate the opening, guests can sign up via the Amalfi website to enjoy a complimentary glass of Prosecco or Spritz when they visit the new restaurant.

Opened in 1828 and designed by legendary civil engineer Thomas Telford, St Katharine Docks has almost 200 years of history. Built on the site of a 12th-century hospital, the docks became a high-security commercial port through which some of the world’s most prized luxury goods, including sugar, tea, spices and perfumes, entered London.

After suffering extensive bomb damage during the Second World War, the docks eventually closed to commercial shipping in 1968 before being transformed in the 1970s into the beautiful marina complex that Londoners and visitors know today.

Now home to 185 fully serviced berths, with the ability to accommodate luxury megayachts of up to 40 metres, St Katharine Docks has become one of the capital’s most distinctive waterside destinations, a unique meeting point of maritime history, contemporary London and luxury living.

The new Amalfi restaurant has been conceived as an elegant waterside escape, transporting guests from London to the sun-soaked Italian coast from the moment they arrive. Inside, stylish interiors will create a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere, while outside, beautiful waterfront seating will allow guests to dine and drink overlooking the marina.

Whether arriving for a leisurely lunch beside the water, cocktails as the sun sets over the docks, a romantic dinner or a celebratory evening with friends, Amalfi St Katharine Docks has been designed to make every visit feel like an occasion.

The menu will continue Amalfi’s love affair with the food of Italy, combining the restaurant’s signature dishes with the convivial spirit and generosity of Italian dining.

Guests can expect indulgent seafood, handmade pasta, stone-baked sourdough pizzas and beautifully prepared meat and fish dishes, all created with quality seasonal ingredients and Amalfi’s signature contemporary flair.

Adding to the restaurant’s appeal will be Amalfi’s popular bottomless brunch, bringing an extra touch of Italian indulgence to the waterfront. Perfect for weekend catch-ups, celebrations and leisurely afternoons with friends, the experience will combine delicious Italian dishes with free-flowing drinks in a lively, relaxed setting overlooking the marina.

Amalfi St Katharine Docks will also offer Afternoon Tea, providing a delicious new way to enjoy one of London’s most picturesque locations. Ideally positioned for visitors exploring nearby Tower Bridge, the Tower of London and the surrounding historic sights, the experience will offer tourists and Londoners alike the opportunity to take a leisurely break from sightseeing and enjoy a touch of Italian-inspired indulgence beside the water.

With its beautiful marina views and distinctive setting, Afternoon Tea at Amalfi promises to be a welcome addition to the area’s hospitality offering, combining the charm of a much-loved British tradition with the warmth and flair of Italian hospitality.

Alongside the food, a carefully curated drinks offering will capture the spirit of the Italian aperitivo, making the waterfront terrace a natural destination for spritzes, cocktails and glasses of something sparkling as the boats move through the marina.

The arrival at St Katharine Docks represents another significant chapter for Amalfi Ristorante. As its third restaurant in London, the opening reflects the brand’s growing presence in the capital while giving each restaurant a distinctive sense of place.

Amalfi Ristorante spokesperson, James Lavin, said: “St Katharine Docks is an extraordinary location. You have almost 200 years of history, beautiful water, luxury yachts and one of London’s greatest landmarks, Tower Bridge, right on the doorstep. It feels like the perfect setting for Amalfi.

“We wanted to create somewhere that captures that wonderful feeling of being beside the water on the Italian coast, enjoying incredible food, a glass of something sparkling and watching the world go by. With our outdoor seating right on the waterfront, we think this will be a very special place to experience la dolce vita in London.”

Amalfi Ristorante St Katharine Docks officially opens on 28 October 2026, welcoming guests to discover Italian waterfront dining, indulgent brunches, Afternoon Tea and aperitivo moments in one of London’s most iconic locations.

Guests can register for their complimentary glass of Prosecco or Spritz and find out more about the restaurant at www.amalfi.co.uk.
