Legendary singer-songwriter Billy Ocean has announced a major UK arena tour for 2027, celebrating 50 years of his classic track ‘Red Light Spells Danger’. The special anniversary tour will see Billy perform all his greatest hits across the UK, joined by very special guests Tony Hadley on selected dates and Heather Small on all dates.
Billy Ocean is one of the biggest recording stars Britain has ever produced, with over thirty million record sales, a pile of Gold and Platinum records across the globe and a string of worldwide number ones including in the USA, Australia, Germany, Holland, and the UK.
Billy’s pop and soul anthems are as powerful and popular today as they’ve ever been. With hits including ‘Red Light Spells Danger’, ‘Love Really Hurts Without You’, ‘When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Goin’ and the Grammy Award-winning ‘Caribbean Queen (No More Love On The Run)’ continuing to attract millions of streams and views worldwide, his music remains a beloved soundtrack for generations of fans around the globe.
Originally released in 1976, ‘Red Light Spells Danger’ became Billy’s breakthrough international hit and remains one of the most enduring and recognisable songs of the era. Fifty years on, the track still fills dancefloors and radio playlists around the world, cementing its place as a true classic.
Billy’s success reached new heights with the release of the landmark album ‘Suddenly’, which spawned a string of global hits and led to his first Top 10 album positions in both the UK and US, while ‘Caribbean Queen’ would later be rewarded with a Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Performance. His follow-up album, ‘Love Zone’, became another major success, reaching No. 2 in the UK Albums Chart and remaining in the Top 40 for six months.
Two more albums followed before Billy took an extended break. After some years away from the spotlight, his reputation and popularity flourished once again in the 21st century. Honoured with an MBE for Services to Music, he also received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the MOBO Awards, an Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement, two Billboard Awards, and an Honorary Doctorate in music from Westminster University. Billy also enjoyed a return to the charts with the acclaimed ‘Here You Are: The Best of Billy Ocean’ compilation and the ‘One World’ studio album.
Following a summer of standout headline outdoor shows and festival appearances, Billy Ocean will take his 50 Years of Red Light Spells Danger celebration on the road for a major 2027 UK arena tour.
