Multi-disciplinary technical consultancy, MEC Consulting Group has opened a fifth office in London.
Based at Percy House on Gresse Street in Fitzrovia, MEC London will initially offer Lighting, Flood Risk and Drainage services and will be led by Managing Director, Alex Bennett.
“The decision to launch in London has been driven by our organic growth,” explains Alex. “Whilst we already have a strong presence in Brighton, recent demand within London has accelerated significantly, so we were confident this move would allow us to better support clients both within the city and across the wider South East.
“Following a record year of trading in 2025, the timing also felt right to build on that momentum and strengthen our profile in a key market. Our London office is centrally positioned, offering improved accessibility and strong regional coverage for the next stage of our growth,” adds Alex.
MEC’s work across London and the South East includes:
• Civils infrastructure design for Sunset Studios in North London, set to become one of the UK’s most advanced and efficient filming locations
• Ground Investigation to support the rewilding of Northwall Road, part of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, into a biodiverse linear park
• Flood Risk, Drainage, Geo-Environmental and Acoustic analysis to support an outline planning application to redevelop the former Pumping Station at Laburnum Place in Sittingbourne, Kent into 26 residential apartments
• Topographical survey and drainage strategy to enable the expansion of Hart Leisure Centre in Fleet to include a trio of new indoor padel courts
• Multi-disciplinary advice on a series of strategic land sites across Essex and Kent for longstanding client, Richborough, bringing forward in excess of 1,500 new homes
Alex continues: “Recent project wins have seen us deliver a diverse range of schemes across the region, and the pipeline continues to look healthy, particularly within residential development, which remains one of our specialisms.
“We are excited to launch London with two core disciplines, however seamless collaboration with established teams in our other offices means clients will have access to the full breadth of our expertise from day one.
“As we continue to grow, our ambition is to build a full, multi-disciplinary presence in London, with all ten of our services represented. We are already actively recruiting, including for an associate director to lead our Flood Risk & Drainage discipline, alongside other technical roles and experienced project managers, ensuring we can continue to deliver the high standards of client care and specialist expertise we are known for,” concludes Alex.
Alongside the launch of its new office, MEC continues to build relationships within London’s property and built environment sector through regular attendance at London Property Face-to-Face, The Build Club and FBE London & South East.
